Cream 1925 Pommadier

Crème 1925 Pommadier, included in our Basic Shoe Care Set and Ultimate Shoe Care Set, is a nourishing leather cream formulated for regular maintenance of fine leather shoes.

Its original formula is based on beeswax, natural solvents such as turpentine spirit, and shea butter, allowing the use of more than seven carefully selected waxes at optimal concentration. Designed to clean, nourish, recolour, protect, and add shine, the cream deeply feeds the leather while waxes create a protective layer and enhance its natural sheen. Transparent pigments penetrate the leather to revive colour and develop a rich, elegant finish without masking the original patina.

Crème 1925 is the essential foundation of any shoe care routine. For a higher gloss finish, it should be followed by Pâte de Luxe or Mirror Gloss.

How to use

Ensure all dust and dirt are removed from the shoes. Apply a small amount of Crème 1925 sparingly with a cotton cloth or spreading brush. Massage into the leather using circular motions to allow the cream to penetrate and nourish. Leave to dry for approximately one hour, then polish with a bristle brush and finish with a wool cloth or glove.

Once a base layer has been applied, simply re-buff the shoes after wear to maintain shine.

Advice

• If leather is dirty or clogged with wax, silicone, or resin residues, clean first with Gentle Shoe Cleanser or Deep Shoe Reno Cleaner.
• Colour pigments in Crème 1925 are transparent and enhance the existing leather colour. Choosing a lighter shade helps minimise darkening, while darker shades create a more nuanced patina.
• Deep Shoe Reno Cleaner can be used to remove excess colour without damaging the leather.
• Always test Crème 1925 on an inconspicuous area before full application.
• The safest option is to use a neutral shoe cream and wax, avoiding the need to match colors. Neutral cream also prevents gradual color changes from repeated use of tinted polish. Note that it takes many applications of the same colored polish for noticeable changes, as only about 10% of the pigment adheres to the leather. For black shoes, always use black polish exclusively.
