Hermès Grand Manège Silk Scarf

Designed by Henri d’Origny in 1990, Hermès Grand Manège is a silk square that pays tribute to the House’s equestrian soul. Its title means “Great Riding Hall,” a reference to the classical arena where horsemanship becomes art. The motif is a precise geometry of bridles, stirrups, and harness straps arranged in a rhythmic composition, turning utilitarian objects into an elegant graphic pattern.

Henri d’Origny, the master behind more than four hundred Hermès scarves, created Grand Manège as one of his signature works. It blends the House’s equestrian heritage with a modern architectural eye, which is why collectors consider it an essential piece in the Hermès canon.
